How do I change my Netflix region?

Your Netflix region follows the IP address you connect from, not a setting in your account. To change it, connect to a VPN server in the country whose catalogue you want, clear the app or browser cache, then reload Netflix. Your subscription stays the same and only the visible library changes.

The steps in order

First, sign out of Netflix or fully close the app. Connect your VPN to a server in the target country, then clear cookies in your browser or wipe the app cache on mobile, because stored location data can override your new address. Finally, sign back in and browse the catalogue.

If titles from the new region do not appear, verify your visible location with a tool such as /tools/my-ip/ before blaming Netflix. A surprising number of failed region changes are simply a VPN that never connected properly.

What actually changes and what does not

Only the catalogue changes. Your billing country, subscription price and account language settings stay as they were when you signed up. Netflix decides what to show you per session based on where your connection appears to originate, which is why the change reverses the moment you disconnect.

Be aware that Netflix actively resists this. Some servers will be recognised and blocked, and honest providers say so plainly. ROOT changes where your connection appears to be, not what you are licensed to watch, so a valid subscription is always required.

Related questions

Does changing Netflix region change the price I pay?
No. Your price is set by the billing country on your account, not by the IP address you stream from. Watching another catalogue through a VPN does not move your billing.
Why do I still see my home catalogue after connecting?
Usually cached data. Netflix stores your last known region in cookies and app data, so clear them and reload. If that fails, the server you picked may already be flagged, so try another one.
